According to a survey of the 100 largest companies in Denmark, 74 per cent of senior business executives believe that accredited translators help to ensure the quality of corporate communications. Equally, many believe that translators have a beneficial effect on their reputation. Since it is generally recognised that a good reputation is reflected in a company’s bottom line, using a translator makes good business sense.

In Denmark, properly qualified translators are officially accredited by the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency to carry out certified translations, which means an official stamp and the translator’s signature guarantee the accuracy of the translation. Government-accredited translators are highly educated professionals, trained to help the corporate and public sectors with their foreign communications.

If the translation is for use outside Denmark the Danish Foreign Ministry will add its official endorsement, which gives the translation legal status in other countries as well. This is done by the attachment of a so-called apostille to the document.
